Cateran’s was established in 1980 by Catherine and Edward Langley, along with their son Randall. The name Cateran is a combination of “Cat” for Catherine, “E” for Edward, and “Ran” for Randall.

The Langley family operated the restaurant at Table Rock Lodge, in Pickens county, before deciding to open a restaurant of their own near downtown Greenville. They used old family recipes and fresh ingredients to cook what many would consider to be classic Southern food. To this date, Randall is at Cateran’s daily, to ensure everything meets the same high standards as the day they started the restaurant nearly 30 years ago.

Cateran’s is open 5 days a week (lunch Wed-Fri and Sun, and dinner Wed-Sat) with an all you can eat buffet for dining in, or orders to go. The price for adults is 7.87 Wed-Sat and 8.33 on Sun (plus 8% sales tax). This includes tea or coffee (to-go orders are subject to a 0.20 takeout fee per meal, and do not include drink). The price for children under 5 years is 1.50 and children ages 5 to 12 years is 3.25 (these prices also include tea or coffee, are plus 8% sales tax, and are only available for dine in). Cateran’s will customize large meals for parties, from any of our regular menu items, with a 7 day notice (although the meal must be picked up) Baked ham and turkey and dressing are popular items for large gatherings. Cateran’s will also prepare a private buffet for parties of 85 or more on Monday evenings. Please call for rates for customized meals. |
